Drywall Sanders

As the name may suggest, drywall sanders have been produced to provide a smooth finish when preparing for a coat of plaster. They can also be used when preparing a surface for paint. Ideal for use on both walls and ceilings, they are also compatible when sanding certain other materials such as wood. However, it should be noted that they aren’t quite as resilient as standard sanders, and therefore shouldn’t be used too heavily in larger-scale projects.

There are a variety of drywall sander models to choose from. Each of these varies in size and shape, with some on the end of long poles or handles. These make it easier to access areas that are further away or – in the case of most upper walls and ceilings – higher up off the ground. Other drywall sanders boast more power, while some have been produced to withstand more industrial surroundings and environments.

Prices of drywall sanders can vary hugely, and the model you opt for should really depend on how often you intend to use the product, as well as the variety of tasks you expect it to help carry out.

You will also need to decide if you would rather have a sander with a brushless motor, which can improve long-term efficiency. Another important feature you’ll need to choose between is cordless or corded – the majority of sanders are electric these days, but their power source still varies between mains and batteries.
