Integrated microwaves are one of the two main microwave types. Their name comes from the fact that they are designed to be inserted into your kitchen wall, cupboard, or cabinet space so that only the front of the microwave is visible. This makes it easy to spot an integrated microwave – they lack decorative/protective casing around the sides and back of the appliance. This microwave is also known as the built-in microwave.

It is only relatively recently that microwaves have been considered safe and practical to integrate into small spaces, and this has had an effect on the styles that integrated microwaves come in. Most integrated microwaves you find will therefore likely feature more modernised aesthetics, and it may prove difficult to effectively fit them into a more traditional kitchen. However, this may not always be the case – microwaves with black cases will likely fit a lot more effectively than the majority of metallic alternatives.

Microwave features vary from model to model, but the most important is the level of heating power it can offer. 900W is the standard power level of a microwave, whether integrated or combination. However, there are a select few models that offer both weaker and stronger levels. When shopping for your new microwave, be sure to check product descriptions and specifications in order to get a clear idea of what your microwave is capable of achieving.
