Roof Adhesives

Roof adhesives can be used for a number of different purposes, but their primary purpose is to secure roofing membranes to the lower layers of your roof. These adhesives are produced by several top brands, with some products specifically designed to accompany other parts of a roofing system. Others are more versatile and can be used on a multitude of membranes and many different surfaces.

Another difference between adhesives is the varying formulas – each product is usually made from a slightly or extremely different mix of ingredients. This usually doesn’t matter, but certain adhesives are incompatible with other materials because the ingredients can cause or prevent a chemical reaction. Some of these may be beneficial to the bonding process, while others will cause it to weaken or fail. Because of this, it is extremely important to keep an eye on user guides and instructions when using roof adhesives – preferably those of the manufacturer themselves.
