Comfort Height Toilets

Clocking in at around 17 – 19 inches from the ground, comfort height toilets have been designed to ease the pressure on your lower back making them perfect for those with chronic joint pain. This is roughly 2 – 5 inches higher than standard toilets which can become incredibly more difficult for those with mobility problems to use.

Beyond simply helping to manage pain, these high toilets are also far easier to get up from, seriously mitigating the risk of injury on a daily basis. This can be an essential addition to homes with elderly residents.

Of course, it's important to consider everyone who may be using your toilet. Whilst, yes, they have been proven to be more beneficial to adults suffering from back pain they can also be far more difficult for children to use. Because of this, you rarely find comfort height toilets in family bathrooms being far more popular in en-suites.

One important consideration to remember, however, is if you are thinking about replacing your toilet with a comfortable height – they don’t promote a natural squat position which can lead to unnecessary straining. This can be remedied, however, by combing the toilet with a step stool.
