Leaf Blowers

Leaf blowers are designed to clear pathways and lawns of dead fallen leaves, which are unsightly and can break down over your grass and pavement, making your outdoor space look dirty and unkempt. Leaf blowers are innovative, efficient, and practical solutions that can be used in gardens big and small.

The majority of modern leaf blowers are electric, with corded and cordless models available. Corded ones tend to be cheaper, can be used for longer, and are less fiddly to operate. However, the major drawback is the limitation of movement. Unlike some power tools, it is safer to plug garden vacuums into extension cables, which will give you a little more range.

Cordless leaf blowers are a must if your garden is larger than half an acre. They will provide you with the range you require without having to invest in a number of extension cables.

Leaf Vacuums

The opposite of a leaf blower, a leaf vacuum has been designed for use on lawns and pathways, sucking up unwanted leaves. While leaf blowers simply allow for a path to be cleared, leaf vacuums give you more options when it comes to the disposal of the leaves. For those with compost heaps, leaf vacuums are great ways to transfer leaves to the heap quickly.

Leaf vacuums are ideal for use in smaller gardens where unsightly leaves on the ground can negatively affect the view. For the best results, vacuum up the leaves soon after they have fallen, as they will be more difficult to pick up when damp and decomposing. Also, bear in mind that these machines will prove the most useful in the Autumn months as well as early Spring.

Leaf vacuum models have different power levels, and the rule of thumb is that the bigger your garden is, the more powerful a leaf vacuum you’ll require. Keep an eye on battery lifespans, wattage, leaf capacity and other features when shopping for the ideal leaf vacuum for you. If you own a bigger garden, you’ll likely need to pay more for a more expensive model, but the benefits will more than makeup for this increase.
