Detail Sanders

A detail sander is also known as a mouse sander. They are hardy little tools that are ideal for tackling smaller areas. Their smaller size makes them much easier to handle and operate, while their more compact design takes little away from the resilience of larger models. They can help to give your project the professional finish it deserves without having to call in an expert or resort to more tedious hand sanding.

Detail sanders are all generally similar in terms of power levels, though some manufacturers have sacrificed a little power to create even smaller sanders that can reach spaces that even standard detail sanders cannot access. Detail sanders can be either corded or cordless, much like regular sanders. This means you will need to decide whether power is more important to you, or the portability of the tool.

An important detail to note about the mouse sander is that it is not designed for heavier-duty tasks, and as such can’t substitute a standard sander effectively. While useful in their own right, they should be limited to small areas and details, no matter the power level of the product you purchase. Attempting to tackle larger surfaces may quickly overwhelm and potentially damage your detail sander.
