We offer a range of different basin types each of which can be paired with one of our many quality taps to add a splash of style alongside their functional utility.
With these options including pedestal basins, countertop basins, wall hung basins, cloakroom basins and semi-recessed basins, you’ll be sure to find something to fit you and your project.
Basins Buying Guide
Like a shower, toilet or bath you’ll be using your basin every single day. As such, the importance of making sure you purchase one that suits your bathroom and compliments its designs can’t be understated.
With many different styles and sizes to choose from a little advice can go a long way, regardless of whether are just replacing an old sink or working on a full refurb from the ground up. This guide will go through a few key questions you should ask yourself when looking to buy your next basin.
What Size Do You Need?
Like any other room, the first consideration when designing a layout is the space available. Different size bathrooms will need different sized basins. One you install in a family bathroom, for example will rarely be suitable for use in a Cloakroom.
Smaller bathrooms should make use of wall hung, semi-recessed of cloakroom basins. These will leave the maximum amount of floor space available, not only making the room seem more open but also making it far easier to navigate around.
With larger bathrooms you have a few more options, however you should still make sure that the sink is an appropriate size. A smaller sink will look just as bizarre in a large bathroom as a large sink would look in a small one. That being said, you will have a wide degree of styles to pick from.
How Will it be Mounted?
Before setting your heart on any one particular basin, first consider how it will have to be mounted. A pedestal basin will have a pillar that stretches to the ground, so if you don’t have the floor space this option may have to be discarded from the get-go. Similarly, a countertop basin will need the appropriate amount of worktop space which your bathroom, depending on its size, may not have.
Whilst this may limit the type of basins you can order, there are still of plenty of options in each category. It is important to still take the time to browse for a style that suits your personal taste as well as the space you have to play with. Pedestal basins are great when you’re looking for a classic look, but you also have a countertop for a more modern and sleeker atmosphere.
What Taps Do You Want to Use?
Basin taps are every bit as important as the basin itself and should be chosen with that fact in mind. Not all basins will match all types of taps, so it is always best to choose these together rather than installing a basin only to find that the taps you wanted to use are no longer an option.
Some basins only have one central tap hole and thus will need a mixer tap, whereas other have two or three – separated for hot and cold. The style of your taps can vastly affect the overall style of the room so you may want to consider choosing a basin to suit your taps rather than the other way around.
