Mitre saws, like chop saws, are stationary cutting tools designed predominately for millimetre precise cuts. Able to make these cuts at a wide variety of angles, you’ll find them to be a staple addition to most carpenter’s workshops, though more compact models are available for home use.

Most standard mitre saws can make accurate cuts in between angles of 15 and 45 degrees, with some more hi-tech designs also offering shadow line cut indications for even greater accuracy. To make working in low light conditions more viable, many of our mitre saws also come complete with an integrated LED light.

A popular type of meter saw is the compound meter saw, which is able to be adjusted in two ways both at the base and by tilting the blade. This additional dimension allows for an even greater range in the angles that can cut, allowing it to make bevel cuts with ease.

Sliding mitre saws are also another option, which offers far greater depth of cuts than their stationary counterparts. Typically, these saws will also be designed to make compound cuts though they are also far less portable.
