When it comes to attaching anything to brick, concrete or any kind of masonry, you need to be confident that it will stay in place. There are many different types of screws to choose from, each has its own specific function and has been designed to fasten a particular type of material effectively. Masonry is no different, like wood screws or machine screws, these masonry screws are designed to securely attach anything to masonry.

What are the advantages of using masonry screws?

  • Corrosion Resistant – Because you will be using masonry screws outside the majority of the time, you will often find them made from stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant materials. This allows you to use them in damp environments without the concern that they will become rusted or degrade over time.
  • No Anchors Needed – This will depend on the screw, and your requirements, but there are many of these screws that do not require additional anchors to fasten them effectively inside walls. These screws are designed to create their own thread when screwed into masonry, making installation a little bit easier.
  • Secure Fastening – Due to the hardness of many masonry materials, traditional screws will not have the holding power that masonry screws possess. Specially engineered to provide excellent grip and penetration of masonry, these screws are a reliable and durable way of fastening anything to walls.
  • Head Types – As with many other types of screws, masonry screws come with many different head choices. Usually, hex, pan or flat, these will largely be an aesthetic choice, with some giving you a flush joint to the wall and others sitting on top of the wall, which provides easier access.
  • Simple Installation – Being specifically designed for use in masonry, these screws will penetrate it easier but will need to have the hole pre-drilled before you instal them.
