Kitchen cabinets provide much-needed storage space in the kitchen. Whether integrated below a worktop or mounted to your wall at eye-level, cabinets create a sleek and uniform look for your kitchen whilst allowing easy organisation of all your kitchen necessities. Every kitchen is different, so one type of cabinet isn’t going to fit every kitchen’s requirement.
That’s why here at DIY Megastore, we stock a fantastic range of kitchen cabinets and base units with a stylish collection of cabinet doors, drawers, handles, legs, trims, and hinges to complete the finished look perfectly. We even offer practical organisation accessories with easy-to-install unit shelving and internal cabinet storage.
All of our high-quality cabinets, units and accessories have been carefully manufactured by market-leading experts to ensure the highest levels of quality for your kitchen. There is something within our collection to accommodate every budget-range, so why not explore and find the perfect fit for your home.
How to Fit Cabinets into Your Layout
With such a vast variety of styles and sizes available on the market, there is sure to be a cabinet setup that perfectly accommodates your kitchen space. Cabinets and units take up a considerable portion of your floor/walls, so it’s vital to carefully plan out the positioning in a way that maintains flow and optimises space.
Map out practical pathways for traffic movement to ensure you aren’t restricting any part of the kitchen. In other words, you don’t want to open a cupboard door and then cut off accessibility to the other half of your kitchen, so take measurements and play around with arrangements to prevent this happening.
If you are finding it tricky to fit in all the storage and appliances you need at floor level, why not consider moving upwards for extra room. Cupboards, shelving, and units mounted to the wall are not only great for optimising cramped spaces but also create a stylish look for your kitchen.
Working with Your Design Scheme
Having a design scheme in mind will really help to pick cabinets, doors, accessories etc that coordinate well with each other and with the rest of your kitchen. Think about what kind of ambiance you want to create in your space.
If modern minimalism is your thing, consider incorporating a sleek monochrome kitchen unit with simplistic chrome handles or perhaps even no handles at all. To emulate a warm, welcoming feeling throughout your kitchen space, opt for classic natural oak cupboards and traditional gold handles and legs. Play around with different colours to set the mood of your space and inject a touch of your own personality.
We stock a gorgeous selection of neutral-toned cabinets that will elegantly blend with the greys, whites, and creams of a contemporary kitchen. For something a little more eye-catching, why not add an exciting pop of colour with brighter shades and bring a cool retro vibe to the space?
Whatever your style, here at DIY Megastore, we have an extensive collection of beautifully manufactured cabinets and accessories ready to install into any modern or classic kitchen.
How Much Storage Will You Need?
Practical storage space is a fundamental necessity for any busy kitchen. As well as looking good, you also need to ensure your cabinets and cupboards provide enough space to store all of your every-day kitchen essentials. Carefully evaluate how much storage you will require and then add a little extra to be sure.
Be realistic in your judgment - if you are living in a big family of 5, of course, the level of storage required will be far greater than that of someone living alone. For a household of two adults and two children for example, you could consider two full cupboards per adult and one for each of the children. On top of this, then add in two cutlery drawers and three or four cupboard or drawer spaces for pots, pans, trays and other cooking and cleaning equipment.
When making your plan, think to the future as well. If sometime down the road, your family of four may become a family of five or six, you’ll be needing quite a bit more storage space.
As well as standard cupboards and units, we also stock a range of unit shelving and internal cabinet storage to help with the organisation of your kitchen.
Fittings & Finishing Touches
The additional fittings and accessories are what give your cabinets a clean and professional-looking finish. On-site, we stock a range of practical and stylish fittings including kitchen handles, hinges, legs, and edging trims. Easy to install, these high-quality extras are available in both classic and modern styles to perfectly match the look of your setup.
