UPVC, as mentioned above, are generally more economical than wooden doors. There are plenty of colours and styles on offer, and they feature similar variations when it comes to the many glazing options available. This means that they are highly customisable, and while you are less likely to be able to apply colours and finishes yourself, you will no doubt have plenty of individual options to choose from.

UPVC backdoors are primarily constructed from uPVC, but other materials are utilised too. The main secondary material is metal, which can be found in the mechanisms for the handles as well as helping to reinforce the door, making it more resistant to impacts. If you opt for a glazed pane, then you will also find yourself with a door at least partly made from glass. Like other doors, uPVC backdoor glazing can be frosted to provide you with additional privacy.

Thanks to their considerably lighter builds, uPVC backdoors are much easier to install than many alternatives. They can also be maintained with just a few simple steps and measures, although it should be noted that the white colouring many of them adopt makes scuffs and marks more obvious to the eye. However, this should not discourage you from purchasing a uPVC door – the material is easy to clean up, is resistant to staining and other permanent marks, a replacing them is relatively simple and affordable.
